The Farm Begins - 2007
Denton Valley Farms was established in 2007 by Colby & Amanda Hatchett, and it all began with loading up the old truck and selling produce at farmers' markets. In 2012 they purchased the property where the current farm is located.
Venue Space Completed - 2015
In 2015, they opened the event venue. Sitting in the middle of the orchard & vineyard, the venue offers wide open views & beautiful sunsets. It is the largest privately owned event venue in The Big Country with an 8100 sq ft pavilion, 5400 sq ft heated and cooled, unlimited outdoor space, ample parking, plus a bridal suite and a groom's cabin.
The Farm Store is Born - 2016
In 2016, they opened the Farm Store to sell fresh produce straight from their fields to their customers. They continue to do this, but have added many pick your own options, including one of the largest pick-your-own-strawberry patches in Texas, a large blackberry patch, peaches, and more. They raise their own beef, pork, lamb, & goat meat which is sold in the Farm Store year-round. Their homemade ice cream has become famous across the state, from strawberry & peach flavors served in spring and summer and made with produce straight from the farm to their pumpkin spice & chocolate fall flavors that everyone craves to give them that fall feelin'.
The Amusement Park Opens - 2016
The fall pumpkin patch that started in 2016 has grown every year with more attractions added each year. It is now the largest fall festival and pumpkin patch in The Big Country and has been selected as one of the top pumpkin patches in the State of Texas! Denton Valley Farms has one of a kind Texas-sized Photo Opps and custom-built unique attractions that can be found nowhere else. They have created an interactive paintball ride that is open both fall and Christmas seasons and is unique, not just to West Texas, but cannot be duplicated anywhere. They designed a giant outdoor haunted house, "The Forgotten Forest", which is a sight to see day or night and is a walking trail that spans several acres. During the day, you can stroll through the tree shaded forest and take in all the custom-built fall themed structures and props. After dark, the forest comes alive with actors, lights, sounds, and special effects. You will still find all things fall including hayrides, train rides, a corn maze, interactive petting zoo, over 35 attractions, and an ever-expanding menu of food, drinks, beer & wine.
Christmas season brings Cowboy Santa, a Texas-sized Christmas Light Display, Roasting S'mores on open fires, snuggling up on a hayride through the farm, shopping for unique Christmas Gifts, and fun Christmas themed coffees, food, drinks, ice cream, beer and wine! Customers say, "It's like a Texas-style Christmas Hallmark Movie." You can still enjoy all the activities that you love from other seasons plus some that you can only experience during that special time of year.

The farm is their passion: they are constantly working on the next thing to make Denton Valley Farms a better experience for you! If you don't find Colby and Amanda Hatchett working on the farm, at their real estate company, at their feed store, or keeping up with their son, they are likely at home taking a much-needed break by reading a good book or watching a movie! But usually, that is rare, lol.
